Legal Permanent Resident

It has been a while since I've posted here, so I just wanted to update this a bit....
I finished AM, and am now rendering my short film and doing a new dialogue piece. I hope to post both soon :)
And now the big news: I got a Green Card to the U.S. through the Lottery!!!! So now, basically I can go and work and live in the U.S without ever having to worry about visas again!!! How crazy awesome is that???? I'm officially an immigrant, an alien resident, ha! It hasn't completely sunk in yet except for the fact that I'm bouncing off the walls here!!! And laughing and smiling often for no reason....and celebrating all the time!!! Cheers!!!! Hahahah
So now I'm trying to find a job in the U.S. before I move, hopefully it will happen soon...
Here is the link to my current demo reel:

If anyone out there happens to watch this and has any comments, crits, suggestions, advice....I will be happy to hear it!
Cheers!!!!!!

Another Polish Pass?

Hello! here is the latest update on the short:

http://www.vimeo.com/clip:105740
I'd love to get any feedback.

I've just graduated on the AM program (woohooo!!) and at the same time I'm incredibly sad to be leaving that wonderful site and community, I'm extremely happy they have done an Alumni site for us, where we will be able to keep the community going, upload work for review, have awesome career and learning resources available...in sum, they have gone above and beyond to take great care of us, their first graduating class ever!!! So, it's all a mix of emotions right now, but the strongest one is just awe before how awesome the AM founders and staff are...ahnnn, I love you guys and gals!!!
Yesterday I got crazy inspired too and decided to do a new dialogue piece...but before that I would like to polish and finish my short, redo and finish the end of the "ruined" clip and then I'll get to the new piece, which I'm extremelly excited about :)
Then, I will take a holiday and go to graduation in SanFran, that will be soo much fun, I can't wait!
Anyways, big cheers and thanks to everyone who has helped out, commented and encouraged along the way, what an awesome journey!

Polishing Short

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions and crits, (specially my mentor Chris Derochie and a few previous coworkers) this seems to be on its way to being done soon....
Now I'm polishing, I have a nice list of things to go through, but you may see something no one else pointed out yet, so if you see anything that needs fixing, please let me know!
Cheeers!

( I think if you choose the option of downloading there it may play at the normal speed better)

ShortBlockingPlus

One more update on the short, taking the animation out of stepped. Crazy to think that we only got one more pass at this and then the course ends!

or

If you see anything that you dislike, feels wrong or dont understand while watching, lemme know :) (cause I'm probably blind to it at this point)

Short Update

No, I haven't forgotten about this blog!
I've been working on my short film, so here is the latest version:
http://www.vimeo.com/clip:96069
It's a flash file, so hopefully most computers will be able to play it...it takes while to load, though.
So, currently there are lots of things to fix, adjust, and inbetween. I'm working hard at making changes and getting all timing and cuts final until August 20ish, when I hand the short to a sound wiz to work his magic! I'm very excited to hear what he will do; but after that, I cant make any more changes to timing and cuts, so make your suggestions, NOW! hehe...seriously, I would love feedback, on anything at this point, so feel free to drop a comment, and be as honest as you'd like, I'd rather hear it now than later, for sure! :)
Cheers and keep on trucking

Layouts!

I havent found yet a solution to this, so you still need to right click on the links below and select "Save target as" and save these movies in your hard drive in order to watch them....argh, sorry about that! They are a bit big too, 13 and 10Mb, so it might take a while, depending on your connection.

http://paginas.terra.com.br/educacao/animacoes/AssignmentWeek8Layout.mov

http://paginas.terra.com.br/educacao/animacoes/LayoutV2PR.mov

These are some versions of Layout for my Short I've been putting together....

"AssignmentWeek8Layout.mov" were the first passes, 2 versions there, first one shorter, then a longer one

"LayoutV2PR.mov" are the second passes, 2 versions, after feedback and some other ideas that came up. First that plays is a more "angry" short, second one is more based on a "chase" theme

I would really appreciate opinions on them: which do you think is better/more fun to watch?
Did you understand what was going on the first time you watched it?
Were there any parts that were confusing?
What do you get out of it, what does it say to you?

If you have any suggestions on different things that could happen, or different cuts, different timing, anything, I'm really looking for feedback right now, to improve this as much as I can and decide for one of them, as next Tuesday I submit the final one that will get animated over the next months...

So thanks for checking them out, hope you enjoy!

PS: Sound is very temporary, the music wont be these ones, I just put them there for a test to see how it felt with music....
